What I’ve read this summer.
I intend to read 100 books this summer that I’ve never read before. I am going to include things I was supposed to read for school, but skimmed instead, which isn’t cheating because now I’m highlighting, skanks.
- The Mist by Stephen King
- Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
- 1984 by George Orwell
- Jazz by Toni Morrison
- The House Next Door by Sue Ann Siddons
- Brave New World Revisited by Aldous Huxley
- A Primer on Postmodernism by Stanely J. Grenz
- Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis
I also intend to read Dance, Dance, Dance and IQ84 by Haruki Murakami. Other suggestions? :)
I’m compiling a list of what makes me, uh, me.
Here’s what I’ve gathered.
- I am Catherine J Smith
- I love reading
- Horses, musicals, my fat cat, the color navy blue, books, kindle files, newspapers, aliens, paranormal crap, dancing, Johnathan, bears, the Office, Community, dinosaurs, and shopping for things I don’t need.
- My favorite movies are Jurassic Park, Super 8, and Oklahoma!
- I like studying the end of the world, and how popular literature thinks that will come about (Literary eschatology and apoctalypticism) so I must be dark and funny as hell.
- Jesus loves me.
- I go through phases of interest like a 4 year old.
- I am unapologetically me. I get jealous of other people and their unique traits, but all cards on the table, I like me, more and more as I rediscover myself underneath the jealousy. In fact, I don’t know why I ever questioned that I could go further in life.
I’m having an interesting soul-searching summer, y’all.
Shalom. :)
interrobang-ler:
how to be a writer
- start to write something
- pause and read over what you have so far
- cringe
- backspace everything
- exit out of your computer
- cry on the floor
